Yesterday afternoon, a close friend could see me on my patio, she was down at the beach and called me, inviting me down for a glass of wine. I went down and after a while, she asked me what I was doing next Sunday night. I said, I have nothing planned to which she replied . . . ‘You do now as I have committed you to attend a Breast Cancer Fundraiser.

Knowing her younger sister, a single Mom of 2 small boys had recently been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer and had just started her treatment, with her hair now falling out it massive clumps . . . I said of course I will go with her.

Later that night, we were sitting on the patio at a bar when her sister phoned. My friend put her sister on the phone with me, this was the first time I have ever spoken to her. As she was explaining about the treatment, her hair falling out, I could hear in her voice just how frightened she is and also wondering if her 2 small boys will have a Mom to grow up with.

This got me thinking . . . ‘What can I do to help?
